This is a comic book blog; I'm using it only to write about comics. Further, it won't be filled with comic reviews or amusing scanned panels - there are heaps of other blogs and communities for that sort of thing. Instead, expect to find musings and essays about comics, comics as hobby and lifestyle, comics' place in wider popular culture, personal vignettes and thoughts about life as a comic obsessive enthusiast, and so on. You get the picture - it's about comics, from the highbrow to the lowbrow, from spandex-clad adolescent power fantasies to pouty xeroxed emofied zines and everything in between. Comics are a medium, not a genre, and should be treated and enjoyed as such.
About me; I've actively read comics for about twenty years now, and I've always spent a disproportionate chunk of my disposeable income on my weekly habit.
Why "comic pedophile," though?
It's a reaction to the increasing number of websites devoted to traditionally "uncool" hobbies who try to overcompensate for their inherent uncoolness by assuming "badass" or "edgy" names; "Stitch and Bitch" for knitting, "Bookslut" for people who love to read, "Assholes review comics" on Ain't it cool news...such embarrassing and lame posturing! If you need to clothe your nerd hobby in some edgy garb in order to live with yourself, then I'll give you edgy - I like comics so much I MOLEST CHILDREN! How's that for edgy? =)
